Late nights

One of the best things about vacation time for kids is going to bed late. Here are a few ideas for things you can do at night:

1. Camp out in the living room.

You can pitch a tent, construct a makeshift tent with sheets, or just bring your sleeping bags out into the living room. You can tell stories, play games, and if you're in a creative mood you can cut out and stick stars on the top of the tent and pretend you're really outside sleeping under the stars.  This can be done as a family or you can have a sleepover and invite a few friends.

2. Turn camp night into movie night.

Movies can be watched on the television or, if you have a projector you can hook it up to your laptop and project the movie onto a wall in the living room. Kids feel like they are at the movies and you can pop popcorn and have a few snacks and drinks, all within the safety of your home, and at minimal cost (except for the snacks!).

3. Have a games night

Pull out your favourite multiplayer games, and spend quality time as a family. Whether its Taboo, Pictionary, Monopoly, Charades, or any other game you enjoy, make that extra effort to spend time together, having fun and making memories! Since school is out you don't have to worry about a bedtime, and time flies when you're having fun!
