Scavenger Hunts

Scavenger hunts are a simple way to keep kids busy and they're also tons of fun! The best part is they can be done both indoors and outdoors, so they're a great option for rainy days or for getting kids outside.

There are many different types of scavenger hunts that can be conducted. Here are a few ideas:

1. Tiny Things

Fit as many things as you can in a tiny box, for example, a matchbox, within a specified amount of time.

2. A - Z

Find one thing starting with each letter of the alphabet. This can also double as an educational opportunity to teach young kids letters and numbers. They can even be required to find letters in different words, whether in books, street signs, food items, etc.

3. Colored Theme

Locate items of specific colours, for example, the colours of the rainbow, or all the colours on a paint chart or palette.

4. Shapes

Look for objects that are different shapes around the house and yard.

5. Grocery List

Turn trips to the grocery store into an adventure by using your grocery list as a scavenger list. Give each kid a list of items and see who can get the most items on their list the fastest!

While scavenger hunts are fun, they can also help exercise the mind and body, keeping your kids active, and their brains sharp.
